JAPANESE ENVOY CALLS ON KHAWAJA ASIF

The Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, H.E Hiroshi Oe called on the Federal Minister for Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif here today and discussed various matters of mutual interest, bilateral relation and investment opportunities in the power sector in Pakistan.

 

The Minister while welcoming the ambassador said that the government of Pakistan was fully committed to provide basic facilities to the people and resolve the energy crises in Pakistan. He said that the foreign investment in the coal and hydel power generation will help to meet the country’s future requirements and offered to invest in generation and distribution. Asif said that energy sector is being made attractive for investors. Steps are being taken to reduce the generation cost and to decrease the loadshedding.

 

The Ambassador assured full support of Govt of Japan in the fulfillment of development agenda of the Govt. particularly in the Power sector and said that Japanese investors are also keen for more investment. ENDS.
